Being myself

Looking at mira's post..ouh..somehow I do realise that I should be myself and dun bother what people might think of and throw away all the formalities in this blog. Looking back at my picture's class when I’m form 1 and form 2, though I’m so-called prefect, still my tie is not in the correct position. Lately, I have been thinking, what should I do with my blog. What content should I put? Should I write down all the important things that happen or should I write something that can somehow give other people something to think about. i don't know. Still finding the answer. Yet for the being, I would follow my brain and my mood to write down the posts...

I do hate limitations in daily life by saying, “ouch we shouldn't do this” but there is no reason on why we shouldn't do that. From Islamic Knowledge and Sciences that I learnt last semester (B+ jek -_-"~), Allah said that there is a reason behind every thing that we do and there are 2 kind of reason and one of them is anything including thinking process that lead to something to be occurred. The other one is a bit complicated to explain and I rather say, i do not want to write it down..haha.. So everything in this world has it own reason, why the earth circulating the sun has it own meaning which can be divided into 2, in science and in religion reasons..

I also hate copying or trying to be other people which i do believe, every and each one of us have their own strengths and weaknesses..by recognizing or comparing yourself to other people, you would see your strength and weakness and from that point, you would either change yourself to be a better person or leave it like that. It is all depends on you since that is your life. No one should ever give a damn on how you should live your life. But still, if you think that by living your life like that would somehow give just a little trouble to other people a.k.a. your neighbour, your colleague, etc, do change yourself slowly. Allah won't help you to be a better person unless you wanted to change. Yes, it is hard to change. I do know that too. What you can do to change yourself is have a person that you can trust, to help you by giving advises, hear what you should say or other related subject from time to time. I do believe, by knowing your strength and weaknesses, you would be a great man or woman.

Effective and hard-working is the word that I receive from my boss and JKR's Kedah Director the day I had small accident last week. I do believe if you are a hard-working, you can do everything..the client for that project in Kedah previously was a lorry driver and yet now he is a millionair with 50million (assume) profit only from Kedah's project. Being effective means that you use your time wisely and after the job has been finished, you can have a rest as small token for your effectiveness in finishing the job. It is important though since other people would see that you are capable of what you are doing, and do not cause the progress of work to be slow down. Include these two criteria along with passion, there is nothing that can hold you down. Seriously.

Yet who am I to say all of this. No achievement that I can proud of but still do look around and ponder. You would understand what this post is all about.

The Adventure of Farhan Iqbal? - Kedah Trip

Rain is pouring down the earth as it was never rained in the past few years. The time shows 4.33 in the morning. Shock seeing the time, farhan quickly wake up and have a bath. I do know that being late is not an option since 'he' would be mad for might being late for the meeting. "Gosh, I might be late" and with that thought in mind, he take his keys and hurried up towards my motorcycle. He know 'she' was waiting for me below the stairs. After a few kick-start, the engine start to heat up. So there we go, at 4.45 in the morning, a person all in black except his pants and his helmet, went out from his housing area towards Jalan Mahameru. His and the only destination in his mind would be the meeting place near his office 20 kilometers from his house where in normal occasion, it would only take 15 minutes if the meter shows 100km/h. Not he knows that ahead of him, the rain is going to be pouring more and more and somethings awaits him.

As he and his beloved motorcycle moved through Jalan Mahameru towards Jalan Istana, the rain are getting heavier yet he didn't want to stop though his clothes are getting a bit wet. He knows, if he stops to put on his raincoat, it would take few minutes and the location are not suitable for him to stop. Now he just entered the expressway leading towards Sg. Besi and to his amusment, the rain is getting lots heavier than when he was at Jalan Istana. "Ok, let put the raincoat or the car would be an aquarium rather than a car" he said. So taking his risk and stops at the emergency lane or shoulders in Civil Engineering term, he quickly take his raincoat and within few minutes, he is back on the road, riding his motorcycle about 80km/h. "Yah, it is all due to raining, I might be late" said farhan while looking to his Guest watch.

Then, he take a turn before Kelab Lumba Selangor since it was his daily road and the fastest road he can think for the moment to reach his office before his boss was. Not he know by taking that curvy 90 degree turn, something would occur to him. At that turn, with 80km/h and slippery lane thanks to the rain plus with the heavy rain at that time, his beloved motorcycle start to be out of control. Everything was in a split of second. What he can see that now he is like playing with slide except that he was on the top of 5cm wearing course (another term in Civil Engineering) and there is a small spark at his motorcycle that are also sliding 3 meters ahead of him. Then, he started to rolled like a Hindustan film yet without beautiful girl that might be rolling with him at the moment. In a few seconds, everything stops and conscious come to his head to ran to the median or centre of two road before lorry, car or everything that might come a few seconds later hit him. That would be another case is it?

Looking at the scene, everyone should be amazed that Farhan is walking talk with smile at his face. Is he nuts? That would be everyone might think of. The lorry that he overtook (ops, did he?) break when the driver saw farhan's motocycle at centre of that two-lane road and a motorcycle come to stop near motorcycle and asking this question to Farhan " Are you alright kiddo?", and he said " Alhamdulillah, I'm okay, nothing major". Then, that two man walking side by side towards the fallen motorcycle and to their amusement again, the engine start in no time. No major damage on the motorcycle except the landing for the feet bend a bit. "Ouh, now i know where the sparkling happen" said Farhan. Yet, looking at his watch, and with the engine is now back, he started to ride like nothing happen. Though he seems fined, yet he was bit shacky due to accident and the coldness of the morning.

In his mind, he thank Allah for giving his chance to be alive again and having no major injury despites with that 4 meters sliding. Looking back at his previous accident, he can said that with that kind of accident, easily he can get few wounds on his knees and elbow. This is all thanks to Attirillah for giving him some kind of advice saying that "With Berkat Nabi Muhammad, pray to Allah to grant you safety during your journey". It is said that when a servant of Allah, gave himself to Allah, Allah will help and look after him.

Thank you Allah. Thank you.

Then, Farhan meet with his boss and now they wend to Alor Star for the meeting with the client, JKR and the developer, Haji Ismail.

The Fireworks and Hari Raya

Assalamualaikum...

Hari Raya is getting nearer..Just few days to go before we complete the task that been given to us by Allah..and on 1st Syawal, we will celebrate upon our completion of fasting...di sini, dengan ikhlas dari hatiku ini, saya ingin mengucapkan

SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI
MAAF ZAHIR DAN BATIN

this year, johor bahru would be the place where my family celebrating the hari raya...due to my little brother having his SPM, we have decided, it is good for our family to stay and celebrating raya at jb..i'm not complaining but yet, since i'm not going back to kampung, i can't buy mercun as much as i like. for me, celebrating hari raya with fireworks is a must. looking back to history, i almost lost my fingers due to fireworks. a small kid with no brain playing firework is really dangerous, and never should we let them play the fireworks alone. yet, i'm here with full fingers at my hand typing this post.

back then, i also creating my own fireworks with the curiosity and creativity leading the way. and from this experiments, i come to know that making your own fireworks are really dangerous compared to the factory-made fireworks. looking at the news, there is always kid with injuries due to fireworks during ramadhan and this incident alerts the government to ban the firework from entering this country and thus causing me having hari raya without firework. cant believed it. it is not fair for those who are playing fireworks safely (like me, since i'm an adult and i have brain and knowledge on how to play) that is why we as adult should teach the kids on how the play with fireworks safely and to parents who let their kids to play alone and injured due to firework, government should take a fierce action on them so that I can play fireworks during hari raya.

vote for fireworks!!

(p/s yey aku ada mercun raya ni...90 mercun telur...and lost opportunity to have KLCC 2..aih)

The Tomyam and Mistakes

assalamualaikum...

I hate formalities very much, thus from this post and onward, the post wont have a capital I or anything that seems normal and causing me to hate myself for posting. been thinking bout this. haha. seems crazy don't I?.

last weekend would be another milestone for me since i tried to make another main dishes. this time it would be chicken tom yam. it is a simple dishes where the tom yam paste is already in the market, so you can just take about 5-10 minutes to prepare the dishes.

yet in this dishes, i did a mistake not knowing it would affect on the beauty of the dishes. thinking that if I put 'limau purut' itself in the dishes, the dishes would taste better but vice versa, it cause the dishes to be a bit bitter in certain places. still at the and of the day, the dishes can be eaten and alhamdulillah with the presence of bitterness in the tom yam, it still delicious. (^-^)

thus, to ensure that tom yam preparation is fully inside my hand, i have another go on sunday. but in this case, we change from nasi to kuew tiow. considering the mistake that i had done, carefully and quickly i do the cooking since just wake up at 630pm and knowing that bazar ramadhan is long gone by the wind, by hook or by crook, berbuke pose is a must. so kuew tiow tom yam is the only alternative in my mind that can be made for bebuke.

the moral here is not bout the cooking or about the dishes. somehow, if you make a mistakes, dont feel sad or down or having a negative thoughts. it would be bad for you, try to face it and you would be a better person and a gud chef for this case. may Allah help you..

The Relationship that Last

Assalamualaikum and gud day...

Feel quite bored today in office so I decided to write something. So I takeout an archived article from my bag and started to copy the article. I crossover an article inside NST on 25 September which I do think that it would be great things to do to put it in my blog. Though it is not suit me or reflect me at the moment, still it can teach us lots of things.

The topic for that article is "Building Relationship that Last".

Trust is an important for all relationships. When trust is broken, it is the end of relationship. Lack of trust leads to suspicious, suspicion generates anger, anger causes enmity, and enmity may result in separation.

NO POINT FINGERS. A man asked his father-in-law, "Many people praised you for a successful marriage. Could you share with me your secret?" The father-in-law answered with a smile, " Never criticise your wife for her shortcomings or when she does something wrong. Always bear in mind that because of her shortcomings and weaknesses, she could not find a better husband that you."

We all look forward to being loved and respected. Many people are afraid of losing face. Generally, when a person makes a mistake, he would look around to find a scapegoat to point finder to. But if we forgive others, others will ignore our mistakes, too.

CREATING PERFECT RELATIONSHIPS? A person visited the government matchmaker for marriage and requested, " I am looking for a spouse. Please help me to find a suitable one." The officer said, " Your requirement please." The person replied. " Good looking, polite, humorous, sporty, knowledgeable and good in singing and dancing. Willing to accompany me the whole day at home during my leisure hour, if I don't go out. Ready to tell me interesting stories when I need a companion for conversation, and to be silent when I want to rest." The officer listened carefully and replied, " I understand, you need television."

Many couples are blind and deaf at courting stage and dream of perpetually perfect relationships. Unfortunately, when the excitement of love wears off, they wake up and discover that marriage is not a bed of roses.

NO OVERPOWERING. Many relationships fail because one party tries to overpower another or demands too much. People in love tend to think that love will conquer all, and their spouses will change the bad habits after marriage. But usually, this is not he case. There is a Chinese saying that carries the meaning, "It is easier to reshape the mountain or river than a person's character."

It is not easy to change. So having high expectation on changing the spouse's character will cause disappointment and unpleasantness. It would less painful to change ourselves and lower our expectation.

RIGHT SPEECH. There is a Chinese saying that carries the meaning, " A speech will either prosper or ruin a nation." Many relationships break off because of wrong speech. When a couple is too close with each other, they always forget mutual respect and courtesy. They may say anything without consideration if it would hurt the other party.

PERSONAL PERCEPTION. Different people have different perceptions. One man's meat could be another man's poison. You can never have everyone praise your, nor will everyone condemn you, So, do not be too bothered by other's words if you conscience is clear.

BE PATIENT. This is a true story that happened in the US. A man come out of his home to admire his new truck. To his puzzlement, this three-year-old son was happily hammering dents into the shiny paint of the truck. The man ran to his son, knocked him away and hammered the little's boy hand into a pulp as punishment. When the father calmed down, he rushed his son to the hospital. Although the doctor tried desperately to save the crushed bones, he finally had to amputate the fingers from both the boy's hands. When the boy woke up from the surgery and saw his bandaged stubs, he innocently said, "Daddy, I'm sorry about your truck but when are my fingers going to grow back?" The father went back home and committed suicide.

Think first before you lose your patience with someone you love. Too often we fail to recognise the difference between person and the performance. We forget that forgiveness is greater than revenge. People makes mistakes. We are allowed to make mistakes. But actions we take while in a rage will haunt us forever.

(p/s: credit to NST and hope somehow we can reflect back on ourselves and thinks whether with our current characteristics, can the relationships sail for a very-very long time?)

Thank you

The Thing that We Lack of

Assalamualaikum and gud day...

Yesterday have a gud occasion to be spread and to be write on this blog. It is not about what I do during working hours but it is about 'berbuke pose'. The special things about this 'berbuke pose' is I receive so-called advice that I think I should be sharing it to all of you since sharing is caring (caring ke aku?) -_-"~...

Back to the story, we had our buke pose at Hilton Hotel in KL Central with my father and my sisters along with PDRM Marin from Bukit Aman and staff that associated with MTU. After a long eating process - about 4 - 5 plates (comprising fresh kupang, lots of sushi, fresh oyster, satay, nasi impit, abc, lots of teh tarik, belut, ayam masak bla2, ikan skit, baklava, som tam, kerabu perut and kurma) + an abc, someone asks us regarding our education background, what course that we take and so on.

Later, during the conversation, that uncle tell us a real-life story about him and his wife who sits beside him during that buke pose. He said, while he is in US for study and working, life is very tough yet we should not limit and not challenging ourselves by saying,"I had enough, I can't do this, argh, pressure gile" and etc. We should believe that in some part of the world, there is someone that had gone through like we are doing and at the end, achieve what he wanted to be.

He also said, when people graduate and start working, they often being in the group where chit-chat is the main activity and causing them to be at the same level of thinking and commitment while their performance is not up to par and don't stay ahead of demand (lagging~ and not effective). Their knowledge is not increasing and it would be the same as when he/she graduated from university . Yet sometimes, their knowledge are decreasing year by year and they only follow all the procedure while not knowing the purposes behind it.

Lastly, I asked him this question "Should I do my master here in local and at the same time, trying to gain experience to become professional engineer (PE or Ir) or should I go oversea to further study?" Calmly he answered my question " You should go oversea and become professional engineer there since the qualifications needed is more tough than Malaysia plus you will have oversea experience. Yes, it can't be converted into Malaysia's PE but still it is a plus-plus condition"

Are we in this group after we graduated and in working environment? I don't know. Might be. My officemates are always talking and talking. (Sorry guys if all of you reading this post ^^.. pose2 ni kena slalu maafkan org..keskes)

At last, knowing there are people outside there who support civil engineering from bottom of their heart and encourage young people like me to be extraordinary engineer in term of technical, management and business minded. Thank you uncle and thank you also to my current boss at DRSA Consulting Sdn Bhd for train + brain-washed to be a powerful engineer.

Though it is a long way to go, still I would like to be at that path.

CIVILPOWER!

The Chicken Curry and Masjid India

Assalamualaikum and gud day.

Chicken Curry and Masjid India seems to be connected to each other but in this case, it is not. First let us talk about Masjid India. Last Saturday 29 Septermber, I accompany Mohd Attirillah to meet his old-school friends and don't ask me why I would like to follow him (long story back then). And then we went to Kuala Lumpur using LRT and we stopped at Masjid Jamek station where we have our Asar prayer at Masjid Jamek. It is an old-design masjid where the main prayer room is quite small with lots of column to support the main kubah and roof. The main room is divided into 2 for woman prayer room and man prayer room. At the outside, there would be common prayer room for man (since woman would take hidden place for changing..aurat2 ^^), where the column is about 6-8m apart from each other (Common design for column). After we have our Asar's prayer, we go and meet Attirillah's friend that awaits us at Masjid India(there you go, Masjid India come up at last). After meeting and talking and walking (pancit tahap 15, that's why I don't like shopping very much, yet I love outside activities because it has a reason to do).

Back to our story here, time passed by and the clock shows 645pm. It is nearly 'bebuke pose' so since all places were full by 615pm, we have no choice to have a small scale berbuke pose. We bought 2 pau (1 ayam & 1 kacang) and 2 sengkuang drinks and headed to Masjid India. Yet, the outside area are so full with people and we had no choice but going inside. We originally though that we just want to sit down and have our foods but after we sat, people inside the hall are giving their foods to us. It is an honour since they thought us as a family and not as an outsiders. We are really gratefull to Allah since we have a bubur lambuk and bandung made specially from Masjid India. After that, we went back to keramat (Attirillah's house for internship purposes) and have proper dinner there.

This story is not stop there. It has a second part which is Chicken Curry for Sunday 30 September. I decided to make a chicken curry for Sunday's buke pose since it is sort of one of my favourite dishes. So i told my friends and there we go to Carrefour to buy the ingridients listed below

  • 1 Chicken - whole
  • 1 Kelapa (Santan)
  • 2 packets of Curry - Adabi
  • 1 packet of Cili Boh - Cili Kering pon bole, but we dun have blender nor lesung batu
  • 1 inch of Halia
  • 2 pieces of Bawang Putih
  • 6 pieces of Bawang Merah
  • 1 packets of Rempah Ratus - namedly Kayu Manis and Bunga Cengkih
  • 1 spoon of Salt and Sugar
  • 2 pieces of Potatoes - if you want to
  1. First, clean the chicken (remove the skins and also fats - klo rajin).
  2. Then, blend Bawang with Salt (please do put salt at this stage. ^^)
  3. After you have 'goreng' Curry, add it into the bawang mix
  4. Then, 'campak'kan this mixture into pot with oils in there
  5. After you smell something good from the pan, 'campak'kan rempah + ayam
  6. Then, kacau hingga sebati
  7. After a sometimes, (tunggu sehingga air campuran ayam + curry become lesser), 'campak'kan santan + sugar
  8. Then, put the potatoes and wait until it boiled out.

Siapla ye puan2 dan tuan2 sekalian, Kari Ayam Campak2 Sudeyh kita pada hari ini. Kita campak dan kita berdoa agar Allah will help us to ensure that this kari ayam sedap. Amin.

*After the show, time to breakfast. And from our critics aka Attirillah, Khairul Ariffin, Uzair, Helmi, Safrizal,Mazhar Azrin, Affendi, and Faisal, they all said "terbaekh la Pa'an kari ayam ni".

You might say that you don't want to believe but it is your call and not mine. (Pictures are not available right now, I would post it afterwards) Hihu. Somehow, I really proud of myself for completing the very first Chicken Curry all by myself (Don't have a chance to really do it at home cause my mother would take control of everything) and at the same, I had achieve one of target during this internship aka to sharpen my cooking skills (bole a skit2 setakat nk kasi org makan..)

See you, Assalamualaikum.
